The first meeting of the Working Group for drafting the 2026–2028 Action Plan for the implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Strategy has been held
The Working Group for drafting the 2026–2028 Action Plan for the implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Strategy, which also includes representatives of the Serbian ITS Association, held its first working meeting on November 3rd 2025.
Given that the current Action Plan expires on December 31st 2025, the process of developing a new plan has been initiated, one that will define specific, measurable activities for the 2026–2028 period. The Working Group, composed of representatives from all relevant institutions, bodies, and organizations, has the task of defining priorities, activities, deadlines, and the necessary resources in order to create a concrete and applicable Action Plan, with realistic assessments of the financial framework for each activity.
By adopting the Road Traffic Safety Strategy for the period 2023–2030, the Government of the Republic of Serbia set the goal of becoming one of the 10 safest countries in Europe by 2030. The general objective of the Strategy is to reduce the number of fatalities and seriously injured persons by 50% by 2030 compared to 2019, as well as achieving zero child fatalities (“Vision Zero”) in traffic accidents.
